Finding accommodation in Dublin

Hi everyone! Welcome on board and thanks to follow our adventure in Dublin. This is our first article and we decided to talk about how we plan to find an accommodation. As you may know, Dublin welcomes a bunch of students. Some spend a complete semester here studying; others like us just three months and others don’t even come here to study but to find a job. Therefore, all these students ask themselves the same question: where will I stay?

The D.I.T. is located on Dublin city center (D1), and then we looked for a place in a 20 minutes walking distance from there. Also we didn’t want to stay in the same flat in order to improve our speaking with local or foreign roommates.

After having searched for a while, we all decided that the best way to find a room is to be on site. So we all booked 2 weeks in a hostel and we will find something there. Why? Simply because you need to see what you will pay for and most of the ads you can find on websites don’t match with what we are seeking for. Sometimes it’s too far from the DIT; or they propose you shared bedrooms/ shared double bed; or they don’t want students; etc…

Concerning the only ads we found very interesting, only girls could rent the room.

But in case you wish to book something there, here are some websites we visited:
