Street Art in Dublin.

Welcome back folks!

Today I’m going to talk about street art. Some of you may know that I’m more interested in this type of art than others. I especially enjoy graffiti and by graffiti I mean elaborated works not just a guy leaving his signature as many times as he can. . I even did some back in college and what I particularly enjoyed was to spend a lot of times, and sometimes nights, distorting letters; sometimes until nobody but I could actually read what I was drawing.

Here in Dublin I didn’t see many street art. So far, the most impressive and unfunded graffiti place is a narrow street named Liberty Lane; which is located right next to the DIT’s building on Kevin Street Lower (Southern Dublin). The whole street is covered with graffiti that is progressively replaced with new ones.

A well-known place where you can see beautiful but funded street art is the bloom’s hostel. It’s located in Temple Bar and near to Trinity College. All their frontages are painted with huge representations of characters on a background containing abstract drawings.

You can also see a lot of painting on electricity meters and on iron curtains of some shops. The best way to find them is to go for a walk, pay attention and avoid touristic streets.

As always, you can see some pictures we took in our gallery. I’ll keep uploading photos of artworks that are worthy of being seen.

Cheers

Antonin

EDIT (09/032015): Ok I was wrong, there are many interesting artworks out there, you just have to find them!
