The Six Nation Championship

Hi everbody !

New deadline, new article. As you probably know, the six nation championship is currently occurring. It’s a tournament between 6 European rugby teams: England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales.

We recently discovered a great place to watch the different matches we are interested in. It’s located right in front of the DIT on Cathal Brugha Street and it’s a place where 3 pubs are joined together by a courtyard where they broadcast programs on a big screen. We have been there two times so far to watch our team’s matches (against Scotland and Ireland). We have also watched the game Italy vs England just before ours on Saturday.

As we expected, the match against the Irish team has gathered a lot of French people there, maybe too many because we didn’t really with Irish people. But we had a funny time singing “La Marseillaise” with our compatriots. Unfortunately our team lost the game (IRL 18 -11 FRA). But still, it was a tough and interesting game, unlike the match against Scotland that we won quite easily. There was a great atmosphere, a lot of reactions coming from the crowd and even some teasing from a few Irish who were present.

We plan to support our team every time they will play. Next game is Saturday 28th February at 6pm against Wales.

Hope this article made you want to watch and support our team.

See you soon and “Allez les bleus” as they say.

John
