Each year, March is a big month in Ireland because they celebrate the saint Patrick’s festival from the 15th until the 17th of the month but the parade is only the 17th march. This event takes place in honor of Saint Patrick a monk who evangelized Ireland in V century B.C. Rhinestones, sequins , and leprechauns hats are in short what Saint Patrick’s festival means without forgetting “GREEN”. For the Saint Patrick’s Day, people dance and sing in Irish pubs, watching the St. Patrick’s Day parade, drinking ‘green’ beer, wearing green clothes and having a good time. Children in Ireland have a tradition of pinching their friends who don’t wear green on this day. Between the big crowd, the giant chick and the women artists singing over 4 meters high, the saint Patrick’s festival is inescapable in Ireland. This is an event which gathers old as young. This special dish of this day is bacon and cabbage. Another popular dish is Irish soda bread and potato pancakes. An Irish proverb that we can say for this event is: “Let your anger set with the sun and not rise again with it”.
